Description

This course prepares new users of Schedule Analyzer forProject to effectively analyze the health of project schedules using the DCMA 14-point metrics, DCMA EVMS Compliance Metrics (DECM), and over 150 additional health checks. This course is a prerequisite for most other Schedule Analyzer forProject courses.

Audience

New users who wish to learn how to effectively use Schedule Analyzer forProject to assess the quality and health of project schedules

Prerequisites

  • A Windows computer (Windows 10 or later) with internet access
  • A modern, updated browser (e.g., Edge, Chrome or Safari)
  • Ability to access Citrix GoToMeeting (www.gotomeeting.com)
  • Microsoft Project 2013, 2016, 2019 or later (Standard or Professional) or the Project Online Desktop Client
  • Schedule Analyzer forProject v4.1.5 (or later) installed
  • One available Text field (to use Toggle Filter feature)
  • Microsoft Excel (2013 or later) installed (in order to use the Excel Export function)
  • A Microsoft Project schedule file (.mpp) to use during exercises
    • A sample file is also available from forProject if desired
    • Basic knowledge of project scheduling using Microsoft Project
  • Note: Two monitors are recommended, but not required

  • Access Schedule Analyzer forProject from within Microsoft Project
  • Configure the Settings to match your project schedules
  • Prepare your schedule for analysis
  • Run the schedule analyzer and view results for:
    • DCMA 14-Point Assessment metrics
    • DCMA EVMS Compliance (DECM) schedule metrics
    • Over 150 additional metrics and health checks
  • Use Toggle Filters to view or highlight problem areas
  • Export results to Excel for archive or sharing purposes
  • Import values from a prior version of your schedule
