FP-100 Introduction to EVMS forProject

This course prepares new users of EVMS forProject Professional and Web App to define, organize, plan, schedule, and budget a project; to track project progress and costs; to analyze, forecast, and report on project performance; and to manage project changes. This course is a prerequisite for most other EVMS for Project Professional and Web App courses.

Instructor-Led Remote Learning with Hands-on Exercises

New users who want to learn the basics of managing projects using Earned Value in EVMSforProject

• A Windows computer (Windows 10 or later) with internet access
• A modern, updated browser (e.g., Edge, Chrome or Safari)
• Ability to access Citrix GoToMeeting (www.gotomeeting.com)
• Ability to access the forProject training environment
• Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management
• Note: Two monitors are recommended, but not required

• Assign EV methods
• Establish resource forecasts (ETC) and budgets (BCWS)
• Enter contract information and budget log
• Update or import progress and status information
• Measure Earned Value (EV) performance (BCWP)
• Record actual costs (ACWP)
• Update Estimated ACWP
• Calculate EV performance metrics
• Identify and analyze Variances
• Update ETC/EAC forecasts
• Generate internal and external reports & charts
• Incorporate contractual changes to work scope and budgets
• Perform replanning / single-point variance adjustments
